Sentara is now hiring a full-time Administrative Assistant II to support daily operations within one of its departments. This is a day-shift position based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and is ideal for professionals with administrative experience in healthcare or office environments.

Job Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant II provides high-level administrative support to a manager or department. The role involves acting as the main contact point for both internal and external communication, handling phone calls, emails, and correspondence in a professional manner. You will be responsible for managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and organizing meetings to ensure smooth daily operations.
The position includes preparing documents, reports, and presentations, as well as organizing meeting logistics such as room setup, catering, and technical arrangements. You will also control access to the department or manager, ensuring confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive information. Additional responsibilities include filing, data entry, record keeping, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of four to six months of experience working with basic office or operational systems, with one to two years of relevant experience preferred. Experience as an executive assistant, particularly in a medical or healthcare office environment, is an advantage.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate professionally are important for this role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, is also preferred.
