Front Desk and Patient Services Representative

Patients are the first and last people this role connects with during every visit. This position is responsible for managing check-in and check-out, collecting payments, entering charges, posting transactions, and scheduling follow-up appointments. The role also supports incoming phone calls, registers new patients, and books appointments while maintaining accuracy, speed, and a high level of service. This position requires strong multitasking ability, proactive communication, and the ability to assist patients with questions, concerns, and requests in a professional and calm manner.

Required Knowledge and Skills

A high school diploma or GED is required.
No prior work experience is required for entry into this role.

Qualifications

One year of customer service experience is preferred.
Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Strong public relations skills are required, including the ability to remain pleasant and professional when dealing with upset or difficult individuals.
Clear communication and the ability to maintain positive relationships with coworkers, medical staff, patients, families, and third-party payers is essential.
The role requires emotional maturity, sound judgment, and the ability to make independent decisions.
Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and high-stress situations.
Teamwork and collaboration are critical, along with the ability to stay organized to maintain smooth patient flow.
Basic computer proficiency is required.
The ability to read, write, and spell accurately is important.
Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills are required.
Professional appearance and attention to detail are expected.
The role requires the ability to shift between tasks quickly while staying focused.
Initiative and the ability to complete projects from start to finish are essential.
